Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Anti-wrinkle injections are often used to relax muscles of the face, helping to reduce or completely eliminate wrinkles, particularly those that occur due to facial expressions including glabellar frown lines, forehead wrinkles and crows feet.

The anti-wrinkle injection temporarily prevents nerve signals from reaching the specific muscle, so the muscle temporarily 'freezes'. Over time due to lack of movement and natural skin rejuvenation, the skin and wrinkles overlying the treatment area appear softened. Untreated muscles can move as normal so that your facial expressions still appear natural.

This treatment is not permanent and usually lasts 3-6 months. You will not see immediate results, as it takes about 3-4 days to start working, and up to 2 weeks to see the full effect.

The Procedure

The treatment is approximately 30 minutes..

Stage 1 - Prescriber Meeting

Stage 2 - Consultation!

Before arriving at my clinic you will have a discussion with the Bocouture prescriber who will confirm you are a suitable candidate for anti wrinkle injections.

Covering medical history, contraindications (see below) and final look you are wanting to achieve.

Stage 3 - Mapping!

This stage is so important and I take my time identifying the over working muscles, areas of concern, planning the quantities to inject and drawing all points in a symmetrical pattern.

I will ask you several times to frown, raise your eyebrows and smile to ensure I have accurately marked out the injection points in to the muscle for optimal results.

Stage 4 - Injection!

Pinching the skin and correctly inserting the botulinum toxin using a small needle in to the mapped out points on the face, there is a sharp scratch but minimal discomfort throughout procedure.

Stage 5 - Book in follow up appointment!

We will discuss aftercare and schedule in a follow up appointment for at least 2 weeks after the initial treatment as we can then analyse if any further injections are needed to further inhibit movement in the treated areas.
